    setup help!!!!!!!

I have a 2000 champ 203 with a 225 EFI. Motor runs strong and idles awesome. dont know what my motor height is at this time...running a worked 25P tempest plus by mark. last night 3 people in the boat it ran 61 GPS @ 5900 R's-can go more.

anyway, i know i had a ton of weight in the boat, when we went to take off, we had to have both of the guys in the boat go towards the front so that we could get on plane. then once on plane, we took off great and had no bow lift hardly(which sucked).

when we dropped off one guy to get the truck we went and jacked around a little and it still had to have one guy go up front til we took off. irritating...i did notice that i had all three vent plugs in the prop...does that make a huge difference?

I believe if you would change the prop plugs to the medium size, or try taking one out it should help getting on plane. The prop isn't "blowing out" as you are getting on plan is it?
10" plate and about 3.5" under the pad and that boat should fly with the 25 Tempest.

no blowing out at all...just bogging down until i have someone go up front and put the weight on the bow, then it takes off after that

Then removing or change the prop plugs will help ventilate the prop and increase your RPMs. Don't remove them all or it will ventilate to much / "blow out".

Look at your tach when you take off. Play around with the vents until you get about 3800 - 4000. If it doesnt blow out when the bow breaks over your good to go. I like to set my hole shot up with full tank of fuel and livewell.

    Re: setup help!!!!!!! (Bassman25)

My 193/200efi merc had the same problem when I first bought it. I was in a tournament, livewells full, fuel tank full, partner, gear, and it was raining. I could hardly get her to plain off. After some advice here, I pulled all the plugs out and that was the trick. Pulling the plugs got the rpm's up where they needed to be. I do think I need to put some plugs in though, but with a large opening. I got blowout the other day running some big waves.
