    Battery question????

A friend of mine(who lives in an another town) told me he had 4 batteries hooked up to his trolling motor. Two of the batteries would be recharged when he ran his outboard. I know the two batteries hooked up directly to the trolling motor are in series and the other two batteries would be in series but then connected to the first two batteries in parallel. I guess my question would be will it hurt the outboard motor to be hooked to 24v, or is there another way to hook this up?

Glad to have you back, Lea!!!

There are a few devices that will assist in isolating and charging your troll batteries from the motor. Yandina, who is a BBC sponsor has a Trollbridge in several configurartions. Contact Jones Troll Motors on the Trolling Motor forum and he can fill you in and provide you with one if that is your ticket. A couple of others that are out there are StayNCharge's All Charge and Stealth1's Stealth DC.

    Hope this answers your question.

Mk has a system that charges from DC. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/...mk1dc

id speculate they have a wiring diagram that could shed light on how one hooks up the system for different configs
