Left over champion 200 boat price? What is fair price

What do you think about buying a left over (new) champion 200 2007 model with 225proxs. Two x135's and the standard equipment, SE pkg, lock bar. The price is 37,500. I am concerned about how upside down this model will be in 3-4 years if I buy it next week. The boat is new but will basically be two years old come Jule and new year model is out.
    What do you think?

    Hi and welcome!!

Are you planning on selling in a year or 2? If not, I don't see an issue....

I know. She tells me that all the time. It's okay, as much as I'd like to meet her, I doubt I will with the price of fuel. Was planning to attend a rally one of these days. WIth that said....HOOK IN HULL...

The few rigs that had the hook have been identified and corrected...a simple process. If, by any slim chance, one is not corrrected, it will be taken care of.

Randy, you are definitely going to be speaking in a higher voice when I get to you...

Sorry, maybe it's the meds I am on, but the movie What About Mary just poppped in my head when I saw that. "franks and beans" "hook in hull"

Now Lea has a viable reason to kick Randy in the .............

To the original question, I just paid a hair over 30 for a LOADED premium 18 footer with a 150 DFI on it, I would have had to pay the same for most ANY premium brand. The few hook problems (actually was intentional from what I understood some just went a tad overboard) I knew of were taken care of at the dealerships, not a huge ordeal. The 200 is like fishing of a friggen dock! You know going in it's not a race boat, it's a pure comfort machine, I'd add a GPS in back and the other things I wanted and get it while the getting was good if I liked it. I've owned 2 Champions now, paid more than I thought I should both times and got more than I thought I should QUICKLY when it came time to sell em five years down the road.

Well,I paid fortyish fo mine, which is a 206-2006 Model and would do it again, owned 2 and and several other brands, as for resale,no problem. I quoted a price and the guy wrote me a check on the spot+and was asked by other people, why didn't I tell them first. Oh yea I bought it new. As the old saying goes you get what you pay for. P.S If it were me I probably would jump on it.

That is a good deal. A boat rigged like that in 07 would go for 42K for sure. Even if you take the 5k hit for a one year old boat (used that is) it is a good deal. I paid 36k for my 07 and I know I got a good deal. If you like the boat buy it!

Ya it does seem like a good deal, but let's face it, in two years all the 2007 200 Champions will be worth 25,000 or so. That is a big loss if you stop and think about it. It seems like buying a two or three old boat with warranty left might be a better deal. Like a 198. What is the latest on champion warranty? I have not been hearing good things about warranty dept at champion? I have owned champions before but that was back in 1997 and 1999. I loved champion than and would like to return to a boat like that again but newer.

On another thought what would it take to add a external charging plug to a champion 200?

Re: Left over champion 200 boat price? What is fair price (nmbedwell)

I have had NO warranty issues with Champion. They have been very good to deal with and had no problem with any issues. All the rumors going around are just rumors. I have owned a Champion for around 6 years now and they have been very good to me. A two year old champ 200 will still bring 30K easily, what bases are you going on saying 25K? I have yet to see a 2 year old champ go for 25K that is just ridiculous!

Re: Left over champion 200 boat price? What is fair price (DennisEdwards)

You missed the point. I will make it simple for you since it is so ridiculous! A 2007 boat at this point in the year, is a two year old boat, remember new 2009 will be out in July. What I said was in two years the boat will be worth about 25,000. The boat at that point will be 4 years old. And yes a 4 year old boat that cost in the range of 37000-42000 will be worth around 25,000. Give or take a little.

The point I was geting at was mayby it would be better to get a boat like the 198 that is 2-4 years old with some of the warranty left.

If you plan on keeping the boat several years you will do fine with the price. If you think your going to sell in two years then take a pass.
