Hey folks, Champ set the jack plate at the factory with a pad to prop shaft of 3.5 inches. The boat set a large rooster tail and lost bite when turning. I started playing with the Slide Master and after trial and error 4.25 gave me the best top end and releaved prop slippage. Looking over the site-posts; 4.25 seems to be low for a Champ. Any of you find a lowered setting working well on a Champ?
61 was my best top end speed, seems like that's about right based on my research.
Would like to think more prop in the water would be better when battling the big rollers on GreenBay. I'M headed up there the third week of June for smallies.
PS: gotta love those speedos it showed me bumping 65 my GPS showed 61!
