    is champion real?

first of all i know they are,i have had three of them and liked all three, changed brands in 05 have had some things i dont like with this company, but one thing i do know when you request something from this company (basscat) you get results in a timely matter, no asking agian and agian and no response i knoe everyone is busy, but have tried more than more times than i should a have to say to get a simple 08 brochure, this is the reason i tried another brand in 05,felt like genmar was putting champ on the back burner and they are still proving it still,i look at dealers like c&o and they run them off, they have angler of the year fishing out of there boat and yet see nothing of it, just a shame they have a good product ,and a great following, and yet seem to not care, makes you think they dont want to be around,i am trully sorry i have to vent here, but i dont think champ fans are asking for to much, tony

That would not be a good enough reason for me to switch. I fish the saltwater champion tournament in Sept and took second place. There check cashed just fine Genmar may have there problems but so far their product is still awesome. Cats seem like nice hulls so I can't say you should not have gone their way

Tony...sorry you have not received a brochure. I know there was a large demand and Champ was working to get them out. Did you use the website to request one? If you used the website, it is set up to forward your request to your nearest dealer. Call Champion directly and give them your name and address....615-494-2090

As for AOY, the news is both on the website and in the 08 brochure. Champion cares very much, as does Genmar.

Hell...if I would have known you wanted one I would have mailed you mine (dumpster) I would think a local dealer should have them...I know nichols marine here is overflowing with them.

I asked for one on their website and had it in a week and a half. This was a couple of months ago.

    Re: is champion real? (blkgrnjig)

Brochure never showed for me last year after email request.
I called them and 4 days later, I had my brochure.
The problem is they never reply to emails. They should at least say, hey thanks for the request, your local dealer XYX will be sending it right out.

I emailed them last night about the champion apparel site being so out of date and gave them the link to the thread started here about the jackets. i will let you know if they reply.

If your looking for balloons and confetti you won't get that with champion. They are a boat company not a modeling agency. They build great boats that's what i look for in a boat company.

    Re: is champion real? (87demonpro)

Lea is correct. The brochures are mailed by the dealers. If you are not getting one it is the dealer's fault, not Champions. I'm sure that if you used the dealer locator on Champion's website, found the dealer for your area and called them they would send you one. Try your local dealer first, and if you still can't get one I'll send you one.

That is the way it is handled by every boat company I know, so it is unfair to single out Champion.

Genmar is certainly not putting Champion on the back burner - while the boat industry is in down period and most companies are reducing costs, Genmar is making a significant expansion at the Tennesee plant where Champions are built!

Tony with there web site you do not need a brochure. I can't believe they waste money printing them. You can not build a boat with a brochure or get MSRP. 10 years ago brochures were great but today they are full of misprints.

Mr. Wilson I would have to agree with you on the apparel that we have. Sometimes you have to revise and improve. I think that the staff is a little bit on the conservative side, just be more creative in their thought about their shirts, jackets and the accessory department. Now for getting a response from the Company I can't say nothing but good things about the help that they gave me.

To each their own. I like the tournament shirts but others might not.
I think they communicate with Ranger... (they are owned by the same company) and see how nice their line is, LOTS of choices. Plus their stuff is already embroidered and ready to ship.
Last year I asked for a simple hat and was told 3 weeks because they have to embroider it. Unless I wanted to pay extra for a "rush order".
Come on get with the times.
As for Champion answering my email.....nothing yet. I know its only been 24 hours and most companies try and reply within 48, so I will wait for Tuesday.

He, he, did you ever notice the Ranger and LUND clothing are exactly the same with different logos? I've shown up with the wrong shirts because they look the same hanging in the closet at 4AM.

Re: is champion real? (Mr. Bassboat)

No disrespect to anyone but we are all wired a little differently. I don't need to be a billboard for Champ, I know my boat (champ) makes me happy and that's good enough for me. Would rather have genmar spend coin on Champ web-page improvement's, and continue investing in design improvements.

Nothing like bringing a nice bag to weigh-in all caught from the finest bass boat that floats!
