A Couple Quick Questions for a "Champ Dealer" (or someone in the know)

Could one of you dealers please confirm that "White" counts as a color when one is picking color schemes???.....My dealer originally told me that white did not count as a color and that I could use 3 additional colors in my scheme at no additional cost.....now, after I finally signed off on the order confirmation he tells me that because I am using four colors (including white) that there is a $475 up charge...

I have no problem with that...I just wish he wouldn't have told me the opposite to begin with.....I'm getting nickeled & dimed to death.....my $46k boat is now up to almost $49k....just a bit frustrating.....as this guy won't haggle on anything...I know "Champ" is tough on their pricing but.....

One more question....what would be a normal down payment that would be required by a dealer on a special order boat (std. colors & options)??

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Dan. This is Steve Sendelweck. As I understand, each color that they spray is a separate step in the process. The more colors, the longer the process. White would be a separate color just the same as any other color. They were going to charge me for 4 colors, but I changed the silver star pins to black. Since the hull was already black, that got me down to 3 colors. I paid 10% down to order my 200 from Freedom Outdoors. I thought that was kind of high, but I had no plans to back out of the deal, so I didn't argue.

    Yes, white is a color.

Deposits run from none to paid in full depending on the dealers financial status and how ugly a boat a customer wants to order. Green and purple? 100% paid in full!

We generally never charge a deposit to a customer on an ordered boat. At 700+ boats a year sold by the boat group, if you can't pick it up, we can always sell it to someone else.

There are standard colors and premium colors for CHAMPION. There is an upcharge for each premium color you choose. Your dealer can simply look in the dealer book and it explains quite explicitly which colors are extra charge. White gel is not a premium color.
