Oil out of exhaust while on Ear muffs and Oil Choice for 200 Vindicator

I've got my 95 200 Vindicator on the ear muffs. and I'm seeing thick black oil coming out of the Prop. Is this normal on the muffs? It has been sitting up for about 4-5 months I'm mixing my oil 50:1 (16OZ TO 5 GALLONS). Also what is a good choice oil for this paticular motor. The guy that had it before me ran Citgo oil in it and that what i'm running... its very cheap oil 7 bucks a gallon... but cheap could be expensive in the long run... Thanks for help in advance.

BRP XD-50 is a very good oil but I couldn't answer your other question.

first off to answer your oil question and smoke we need to know weather you are using the vro or weather it has been disabled. if it has not you are double oiling and hense the black smoke since the vro and your oil is trying to get burned at once.
now some smoke is always on the muffs just like on the lake and it may be more noticable since you do not have water disbursing some of it.
Now as for the oil if you want to take the chance of a cheap oil for for it just when it blows dont cry, that also may be the reason he was oiling the gas and has the vro working also, he did not want to chance it with the cheap oil.
Here in sc/ga depends on where you get your oil but a gallon of omc and merc preimum plus are about the same in bulk. find a dealer that sells bulk amounts or in his own milk jug or will fill your used oil gallon and buy that a major cost is in the name on the jug especially if it is johnson or merc, but what comes from the 50 gallon drum in back the shop uses is the exact same and is cheaper than retail gallons, I pay for a gallon about 12-14 dollars where as if I buy 1 gallon in the merc or omc container it is 25-27 dollars at least.
also with it sitting you may have some carbon that is deciding to come off a good decarb and new plugs will also help

Sounds fairly common to me. At least all three of my ever owned omc engines done the same. (one three cylinder Johnson 60 hp, One V4 Johnson 115 hp and my present XP150 Evinrude)
I have never owned a DI therefore, I cannot attest their attributes.

I'm running pre-mix only no oil injector... When i was at the lake the other day 1-1-07 it smoked it butt off in the water... I'm assuming its from sitting up for 4-5 months with out being ran even on the muffs... I'm just gonna have to just probably take it to the dealer and have the carbs rebuilt and adjusted... i tried all day yesterday but no luck... Thanks for all the help.
