    Direct (Air) Injector FUNCTIONAL Testing

The following video shows simple, FUNCTIONAL testing of a variety of Optimax Direct (Air) Injectors.

No trade-secret or proprietary information- but a decent view of a variety of failure modes that CANNOT be determined without specially designed equipment:

NONE of the injectors show in the video are functioning PROPERLY. They ALL exhibit evidence of internal problems.

Very cool. What is causing the annoying audible sound in some of the testing? Im assuming thats a bad noise since the injectors at the end of the video were nice and quiet and smooth. That stuff is very interesting.

Great to see what they are supposed to do.

A fully-functional (GOOD) injector should exhibit a VERY annoying "sharp and crisp" sound, as it opens and closes at over 100 times per SECOND in the functional tests depicted.

Several of the clips exhibit an intermittent "audible" sound- and several exhibit NO sound (those injectors are essentially remaining open, and flowing at near "STATIC" flow). This is due to internal damage that prevents the pintle from closing BETWEEN pulsewidth cycles.

Some of these injectors were damaged by Metallic debris (compressor failure)- MOST of them were damaged due to years of CARBON BUILDUP.

I've got your "Port" set in the lab right now... should be getting into them on Monday.
