    * Carpet cleaning * Whats your process?

What do you guys do to clean your carpets? Not just maintaining, but to bring back beat up carpet to where it once was, or as close as possible? My carpet still has a good amount of fiber left, but doesn't look like its ever been cleaned or fluffed back up...

Im debating on what to do because I dont want to do something that will damage or lift the glue. Is a shampoo/vacuum ok to use? Will the soap I use wash away or effect the glue? Powerwashing ok? What would be your process? thanks~!

I've always used a hand carpet cleaner. Haven't had a problem.

What ever type of soap you use remember use lots of water to rence because the soap will get hard at the bottom of the fibers and also there is a brass brush i use that is for the automotive ind. that will fluff the fibers it dose a job i get mine from the pro man that goes to my brother in law detail shop

Usually as part of my normal boat washing I will saturate the carpet down really well and then use a wet-dry vac to suck up any excess water. That does a pretty decent job of getting the dirt and debris out. Occasionally I will use a regular carpet shampooer to clean a bit better and brush up the carpet. I use water with perhaps an organic deodorizer in the cleaning tank if needed. Instead of soap on my carpets I will occasionally use a 7-1 water to white vinegar solution sprayed on the carpet before doing anything else. If I use the white vinegar solution I make sure I rinse very well with lots of water and then use the wet-dry vac. I never use a power washer on any part of my boat.
