    pre mix

I have a 1999 115 Fict and am wondering about the advisability of removing the automatic oiling set up and going to old fashioned premixing. I hear lots of stories about the oil system failing and ruining engines, but am wondering whether or not this is recommended--or even possible.

    Thanks

    Re: pre mix (midnighthoudini)

Your motor might last about 10 min if you pre mix a DFI motor (i may be wrong). If you pre-mix the oil and gas go right through the injectors and the oil will not make it to the crankcase, rods, ect.... Someone here will clarify if this is true or not.

Correct. You can not premix on a Ficht or an Etec...

...or to put it another way, midnighthoudini, you would get the same results as if you removed your car's oil pump and ran premix in the gas tank. Just think of all those rods, cranks, and wrist pins that would get lonely for lubrication and what they would do to get even with you.
