Water Detection Warning Indicator? Command Link Gauges
Property was hit by lightning 7/28/14. Truck $4000 worth of parts & labor, Back-up generator $1000 worth of parts & labor, Boat $5000 worth of parts & labor, plus a lot more that I won't bore you with. The boat was the motor computer, on board charger, 2 fish finders, electronic switch panels, etc. I finally got the boat back last week and took I for a ride Friday afternoon. All seems to be functioning fine except for the Command Link gauges. The tach cluster continually blinks "Water Detection Warning" & "Low Oil"! Filled oil tank & cleaned water filter. Same indication continues on gauge. Does anyone think lighting could have affected these as well?
Thanx

Lightning can do some strange and weird stuff. It could very well have fried the gauges. I just lost two flat screen TV's and one of three Directv boxes.
Unplug the wire lead coming from the bottom of the primary fuel filter cup. If the water in fuel warning continues I would suspect that it is the gauge. But, this is just a guess.
Or, see if a dealer will loan you a Command Link tachometer. Try it and see what happens. Andy from www.simyamaha.com used to have a loaner unit at one point.
