I'm considering the purchase of a 2002 Evinrude 150hp FICHT
Model - E150FPLSSN
Serial# - G04855505
Based on the guide in this forum, I believe that the model # means Evinrude, 150hp, Direct-injection, power trim & tilt, long 20" shaft, 2002.
Can someone run a warranty history on this motor, please? Also, I understand that this particular model year was the first manufactured by BRP. Is this true and if so, does this mean that this particular model is reliable compared to earlier OMC FICHT models?
What questions should I be asking about the motor? For example, when was the lower unit lube changed, when was the water pump impeller changed, what else? Do I need to know what the compression reads are for each cylinder? If so, what are the factory specs and how would I validate what they (dealer) tell me?
Apparently, they replaced an electronic part that controlled the oil pump pressure alarm. Is this a red flag?
Last but not least, any idea on the fair market value? Thank you.
