    Hank's classic spinnerbaits...

Does anyone know what size wire frame was used on the originals? A friend of mine has been killing them lately on an "unnamed new brand" of light wire bait... But has broke off so many big fish lately from wire frame failure that he wont throw them anymore... Im thinking of making some up that would somewhat model after those Hanks classics.. I used to use those alot and loved them... They were the first lightwire bait I ever threw... Not sure why I ever quit. Thanks

032 and is the same size wire I use on my spinner baits. Mine will not break that easy though but they all will sooner or later once you start bending and straightening them back out. Just the nature of the beast when throwing wire type baits.

Good bait, been meaning to buy some from manns. Joey makes a great bait, really can't go wrong with him.

Know the originals could last a long time. I've got some that are 15 years old that have caught a ton of fish. Beat up for sure, but still catch fish.

The original bait he was using was built off a lunker lure hawg caller frame.. Mann's classic and it are basically the same bait except for the crossed line tie... And they both have a fatter arky style head that seems to come through wood better.

I can build that spinner bait blade1970. I do a purple and june bug football jig that is on my site called purple passion. Would just have to add a few strands of gold to it.
