    new blazer owner

i posted a few questions last night about a 99 202 pro v, i bought it today it seemed to have a pretty good hole shot with the 27m prop i didn't time it or anything, the boat seemed a little wild above 60 though i think it was my fault, i think i had it trimmed up to high it drove alot different than my 201 stratos, i think it reacted alot quicker. that was the first time driving a blazer i was wondering about tips for first time owners to stay out of trouble at higher speeds....i had the rooster tail about a foot above the motor it walked hard i let off and the boat jerked to the left....

    Re: new blazer owner (fastcranking)

Congrats on the new rig. Post some pics when you get a chance.

You'll get a feel for driving it with more seat time. But here's my best advice. If mat it and just hold the trim up it'll walk bad every time. The hull needs a little time to settle as it's lifting, so when you jump up on plane, trim up about half way, let it settle for second and then bump the trim up in small increments. You'll feel the boat lift a little with each bump until your at top speed. Don't over trim, this will give you both less speed and less control. Try to get out during the week when there's less boat traffic and practice drivng this way until you get the feel. Oh, and it's gonna walk some. If it ain't walkin' a little bit it's not doing all it's capable of. You can make control the chine walk by making small corrections with the steering wheel. It'll take a little time, but you'll get a feel for it.
    Have fun!!!

Congrates on the new to you boat. Take your time going fast, driving it will come with some common sense and feel. I would get ride of that 27m prop and find a 27T1 asap. The 27m's are known for slinging blades! I had one let go on a 150 5 yrs ago.
