    prop madness !

Got a 07 202,06 250xs, have a 27 temp plus now full load, 2" below pad, runnin 76 gps, at5800 rpm. I would like to hit 80 plus. Would a bravo 2 lab fin 28 or 29 be good? I have had the same prop set up for a year now. i know this boat/motor combo will go faster. Maybe a hydro jp? for holeshot. Blazer tells me its the prop to have.

you should be able to hit 80 with that tempest. what is your setback on the jackplate? Get the tempest worked to start with. i can hit 82 with a 27 txp and i have a 210. you probably could get more with a txp. not sure what pitch though.

Your motor is way too low. Bring it up to 1.5in. below and keep bringing it up till you lose water pressure or gain rpms and lose speed. That combo should hit 80 with ease.

I can hardly get out of the hole when the motor is raisedthat high. winter months r fine but its the warm water that kills me.

Does the prop not spool up on take off and just bog down or what?

Just seems as if the prop doesnt push the boat. I have had the motor checked 2 times and everything is great. U think I could be expecting too much from the 250xs? Got friends that have Gamblers with 250's and they r over 80, but with trim tabs and hydro jp. they also have 29 and30p bravo 2's lab finished. Whatya think?

Check your pvs holes in your prop and tell us what plugs you have in them if any. That motor still needs to come up.

There is something wrong somewhere. A 202/250 combo with a 27 Tempest should come out the hole good and run at least 80. Have you tried another prop?

THE only prop I have tried is a bravo 2 lb 29p. I didnt have good conditions though. It hade about the same hole shot though, and I couldnt get a topend, but handled very good. Its hard to get a prop and try it around here without buying it.
