Blazer 202 vs Skeeter ZX225

I am looking to replace my 97 nitro 884 with something a little bigger and faster. I found a 06 Blazer 202 with a Yammie on the back and it looks like a pretty good deal. Anyone know of any pro's or cons in regards to this boat? I was looking at a 03 skeeter zx225 but they are about the same price. Also, with both the Skeeter and the Blazer, does anyone know if you can add the second console?

Oh yeah, I fish on Okeechobee a lot and don't know how the ride would be between the two so if anyone has any info or experience with this that info would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

I have owned alot of boats but never a bass boat. I have rode in Rangers, Skeeters and Gamblers. Found a really good deal on a Blazer and bought it.

Could not be happier!! I am the only one I know in my area with one and it drives people crazy. Had a guy try and trade me a two year newer Champion when he saw me smoke a Ranger that went by me at WOT while I was parked. Took me all of nothing to catch and pass that Ranger.

Every boat has its advantages and disadvantages. Some are better for fishing, some are better for speed. I believe that Blazer offers the best bang for the buck and in a very cool package! Skeeters are great boats, don't get me wrong. I just like something that is unique. Trial drive both and then make your decision, if you can!

How is the support from the Manufacturer? As far as getting parts etc that are needed? I had never seen a Blazer till I moved to Florida so I am a little concerned about things like that. I.E. 3 years from now I break a windshield, will I be able to replace it?
Also, I really would like a second console, anyone know if available and price?

I have fished out of Skeeters (ZX225 and 20i) and Rangers (487 and Z21) and a TR-21 Triton. All good boats. I would say the ZX225 might ride a little better than the 202 Blazer but not much. Front deck is wider on the Skeeters and Rangers. With equal horsepower the Blazer will be faster. I love my 202 and I am on my second one now. As far as customer support goes I have never had any issues personally. I have been running a Blazer since 2002 and have always been able to get anything I needed. I haven't checked in a while but a passenger console used to be available. If I remember right they were around $1000. Hope I helped.

What are you calling rough water? Every one has their own opinion of rough, whats yours Headhunter?

I will take speed over ride any and ever TIME... You know the ride is pretty good in the ruff stuff say 2.5....ft going around 80... ...we run them Hard in NC..

I just bought my first BLAZER boat and I like it a lot.It rides better than I thought it wood.Plus it fast over 83 mph on gps vers. 71 or so on a ZX .My blazer does every thing better than than I thought it would.BLAZER BOATS are usually priced alot less than the SKEETERS ,But I think the workmanship is about the same. { PS if you do not buy a BLAZER ,buy a BASSCAT not a SKEETER Thats just my two cents worth, good luck on your boat search. }

I have a 07 202 and I had a passenger console put in at Grammer Marine in Vance Al. It took about 10 min and you can do it at home with no problem. The cost about 1 year ago was $500.00.

i have owned a ranger, bass cat and now a blaser. blaser wins my vote. decals came off,called blaser and they sent new ones free. got a scratch on the hull and called them and they said get the color code and they would send a tough up kit free can't beat that service. handles great in rough water and is fast as lightning.
