    vro leak

I found a leak between the oil in and gas in on the vro pump. It looks like it coming out behind the no oil electric circuit. I was priming the fuel bulb when I noticed it. Was actually at the marina decarbing and fogging the engine when I found it. (95 150 Fastsrike #J150GLEOM ) Can this leak if it's directly behind the no oil circuit be fixed with a new gasket or do I need a completely new vro pump? What is the part number of new pump and how much should I expect to pay for one. BTW, the motor has been running fine with no audible alarms. Hope someone can help me out! Mike

    Re: vro leak (claude)

Claude, Thanks for the info. I thought I might be able to repair the leak with a new gasket or o-ring if it's rebuildable. I don't know if my pump is the new style and if I repace it with the new one whether or not I have to change any thing out in the oil reservoir tank. Maybe some one can answer that for me! I've done a search on this forum but haven't found anything covering that issue. But I'm sure somebody will have that answer. Thanks Mike

    Re: vro leak (mike)

Mike I have a 1995 130hp Johnson and I replaced my pump with the new OMS model it uses the same lines as the VRO.

The reason I changed my pump is that it started to leak at the top when the bulb was primed hard. You should have no problem with new pump , have a good evening.

    Re: vro leak (claude)

If your fuel delivery outlet has 2 torx screws and a silver clamp that holds it down you have the new style. Other wise the elbow is glued on and not movable. To save customer time and money it is easier and cheaper to replace the VRO to the new style OMS. The kit comes with conversion instructions to go from the 3 wire to the 4 wire also. No oil tank conversion is needed.

    Re: vro leak (ChampioNman)

ChampioNman, Thanks for the info, Mine must be the older style. The fuel/oil outlet is white plastic and there are no torx screws or clamp holding it on. Howerver I do have four wires. (purple, tan , black, and white). Is the new style #500458. Thanks Mike
