I am a little worried about making this post so early, but I just have to here some of your remarks. It looks like two of the guys that are more than able to answer this are online so here I go. I have a 2003 202 with a 2003 225vmax that has a worked 27m prop and 12 plate. I am seeing about 75-77 mph. This is not a setup question I know were my problems are and a new boat is on its way. Here is my ? I fish lots of tournys and I am out in front most of the time but when I checked other boat forums they also run 74-77. Are they getting their numbers another way?

Usually, they are going by the speedo. You'd be amazed at how many people say 74-77 and it's really 67-70.

You may pick up another mph or two if you went with a 15" plate on your 202. But you probably don't want to with a new boat on the way.

I agree with Jason on this one, but all rigs are different. You could take 10 Blazers and the same set up might not work on half of them. Don't worry about other peoples claimed speed, just pass them on your way to yuor next spot.

I guess you are right but they still put those 3 magic letters after it....G.P.S. I am really just curious if maybe others boats are more affected by added weight or is it that Blazer's are faster in actual fishing situations. I have actually seen G.P.S. speeds on brand x boats that are faster than mine,....but they never pass me!

    Re: (tnmark)

When I had my '06 202, I was never passed in a tournament situation (BFL or locals). There were faster boats I'm sure, but they were either too far behind my starting spot or didn't go my way I guess. I did do my share of passing though. The only times I was ever passed was when the wind was blowing 25+ mph and then it was just because some were just being dumber than I was.

You are getting a rocket, so hang on.
