    Pro Mariner 150 Question

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a possible problem with my 3 bank charger. I am not sure if this is a standard charger that comes with all blazer boats, but i think i'm having a problem with mine. When i plug it in, i see no a/c light lit up, but when i push the test button the number 3 bank lights up and that's it. I have my cranking battery hooked up and 2 Yellow top Optima Gel batteries hooked up to the other two banks. Is there any way you can tell whether a charger is doing it's job without being a electrical theory guru ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have your cord plugged into a ground fault circuit, check it to see if it has tripped. If you are getting power to the charger, you can do a quick check to see if there is voltage output at the batteries by taking the leads off and checking for 14.5v with a voltmeter. Most likely the charger is bad and you will have to contact Promariner if it is under warranty. I went thru 6 of those chargers in my 2003 blazer and when mine had no power indicator on the charger it was bad. My 2007 has a Minn kota charger that Blazer switched to because of problems with the Promariners. Promariners number is 1-800-824-0524 if it is still under warranty.

Thank you very much ! I have heard some nightmares about this charger so far. I haven't had it 3 months now, and it's already gone. Thanks for the information again.

You can get ahold of promariner and they will replace it at no charge. It happened to me about 3 months into ownership too. I moved mine onto the fiberglass tray in the center of the rear compartment, after that I had no problems. I will say after your 1 year warranty with Pro Mariner if it breaks again, go get a Dual Pro or a Guest, much better product in my eyes.

Re: Pro Mariner 150 Question (EJP)

My Pro Mariner lasted long enough to be out of warranty before it went out, so it got replaced with a Minn Kota! William is right on about how to check it.
