Shirtman- Update on my son's 210...

I got the Detwiler on and took it out this afternoon. Consistent runs of 87.8 to 88 with 2 people and 90.6 with just me turning the 29 TXP. The Titus gearcase drives like a dream as it does on my boat.

Greg, what RPMs are you turning. I would imagine you had to clip the wires to get that speed with a 29p. Awesome numbers!! I wonder why the Titus LU didn't work for me??? I am thinking about trying Bobs, but am scared from the ordeal I just went through. Anyway, that thing will hit mid 90's in cooler temps....YIKES!!!

The 29 is worked heavily with extra tip cup....so it's probably more like a 30. It was turning 6100. When it cools down, gonna run my 30's on it to see how it does.

Re: Shirtman- Update on my son's 210... (rwtzx)

Greg are those numbers with a load?? You are 5-6 mph faster than me right now, and as you know I have everything that Hydro tec can do to a 300hpdi. I am runnning to big a prop for the summer, but I have 2 30p props coming, but even stillI doubt I will get those numbers in this heat. You are plain out smoking me with 2 people. I run 85-87 in the winter with 2 people. Right now I am running 80mph. These numbers may be off, as I have not pushed the engine that hard since my water psi gauge is out, but I doubt I will be anything close to those numbers. I just don't see how you are only losing 2mph with 2 people when everyone else I know that runs Blazers is losing 5mph or more with a load. Are you running with much gas, tackle, batteries, hell trolling motor??? Not really doubting you, but would have to see it to believe it, and a few other guys that I have talked to would like to see it as well. Maybe you can help us out. If you have time We would like to come down and run with you and see what we are doing wrong. This is not a who's better thing, I really don't get how you are running that much faster than most of us and would like to see what we are doing right or wrong. Maybe it's the props. Anyway, Let me know, plus it would be cool to get all the guys together and run all the Blazers and learn.

Thats smokin Right there Like Mike said I want your moter. Just ran my boat Sat morning. Turned the un-worked 29txp at 5500 to 82.9mph. 13-15lbs wp. Lu 3/4 below pad. Was very impressed with the Bobs cone. workmanship looked alot better than i thought it would. Didn't have time to raise jp. Will do that this weekend and get new #'s. Loved the feel of the TXP in comparison to the 27T1. Turned the 27 to 6100 at 80.9 What is your compression? I would really like to know that!!! Also how high are you above pad? I think we didn't shave enough off. My mechanic was very very conservative. Prop is going to Mark soon to drill pvc holes so i can get the thing on plane. Will wait to work prop after making up my mind about re-shaving the heads. Glad you finally found the time to put it all together. And thanks for sharing the results.

Noah, that was 30+ gallons of fuel and all my son's tackle. He has a Minn Kota TM on it. You are welcome to come down here whenever you like. His boat has never lost that much speed with a full load...neither has mine. I set them up to run as fast as they possibly can loaded to fish...everything else you get a little lighter is gravy. It was only 85 yesterday with not much humidity. BTW- I weigh 200 and my son weighs 225. I honestly think that our motors were just that strong...had some of the 1st ones put out on the market. We also both have the AME 4000 resin hulls with the coosa composite construction. Also, i have put a lot of time in finding what works on these setups. I really don't know why yours is not running up there...I didn't set it up and I have never driven it. Some hulls are faster, some motors are stronger. Without seeing it 1st hand I can only tell you what I would do. I just went out and took a pic of the GPS...I was a little off. I coould have swore it was 90.6 but is was 90.5 and it's showing 90.47 on the trip calculator.

Re: Shirtman- Update on my son's 210... (Shirtman)

Shirtman...work the prop and add the PVS holes. Also, add a little extra tip cup for bow lift. You'll need it with the 210 and the noseconed lower unit. I really don't know the measurement pad to propshaft yet. When I get time and think about it, I'll measure. Having the hydraulic just makes setting one up so much easier.

Greg let me know when is a good time for you. Maybe you can get my rig running a bit better. I am serious when I say you are smoking me right now. Even in 85 degree weather I am off. Let me know, I will make the trip down there. I can do it any day of the week. I really want to see if you have something better for my boat or if you have some other ideas. I figured with those numbers you had to have clipped the wires. Thats why I can't figure out why you are so much faster. I can get down there any time next week, just let me know.

Allright Greg now I am gonna have to get the HydroTech mods done to my motor. I just can't stand it. What kind of speeds was he running on the 210 before the mods?

man you gotta stop telling everyone about my overweight problem........you do this everytime....So i have a weight issue, I am trying hard to deal with it. It doesn't help my confidence when you continue to embarrass me on the board. I have started the Adkins diet and who knows, someday I hope to be down to 300lbs. Just wish you all would be more considerate when you are talking about my weight control problem. Big dudes need loving too!!!

I'm "Big Daddy's" Brother in law. I understand you may have trouble finding quality clothing that fits well because of your size. Go to http://www.tomjames.com and check it out. If you're interested e-mail me at g.pittman@tomjames.com. I work by appointment. I've got a Triton SF21, not nearly the speed you guys talk about. It's got a 225 Mercury Optimax on it. I'll take "Big Daddy" fishing on mine, but I'm not gonna ride on his running 80 mph. He's wide open with everything he does. Apparently, he's a smaller version of you and he's 250+ according to him. I'd bet at least 280. By the way, "Big Daddy's" got 2 custom made suits that are brand new and about 20 custom made shirts, not to mention the shoes that match.
