1999 VMax 225 bogging down

My motor started to bog down after running it for a while. Put it in water ran around lake and it ran perfectly. After about a half hour I fished a bit. When I tried to get back up and run it hesitated then went ahead and got up on plane I then noticed I could only get to 50 mph, was running 65, and it seemed to run very rich. When idling it smoked a bit more than usual. I checked the LP fuel pumps and they were ugly so we changed them and the vst filter. Put boat in water and again ran fine for a while. Then after idling through a long no wake zone, it started doing the same thing. Hesitating on startup and 50 mph max. Any help would be appreciated. Thx
