I think most guys are running a 15" plate and about 1/2"-1" above pad

What's your gear ratio and what lower unit do you have??
Sportmaster w/ 1.75. The boat originally came from Alabama. The boat is Yellow and Black.
HHMMMM, did I see a post over on Fastbass about your ride dude?

I think a 30 or 31 TXP would run good on there for top speed unless you wanted to go the over the hub route. I really don't like over the hubs for fishing or carrying a tourney load. What prop are you running now??
The boat was on Fastbass about a year ago. Right now it has a 30 Bravo but, with a tournament load the RPM's are at 5300. Shouldn't it be running close to 5800RPM?
I think something in the 28 range would be better if you stay with Bravo props. How high is your propshaft? I think a 14" plate would be better but you could also try some two inch spacers. T&H marine also has a 4" setback you can bolt to yours. For best performance, you need to be around 1" - 1 1/2" above the pad.

WDBrand has this same motor on a 2200 Gambler. He turns a worked 30 Bravo to the limter (5880). If you're only turn a 30 Bravo on a 202 to 5300, somethings wrong.
