Rod Locker Lighting issues. Need some help please......

I am having some compartment lighting issues with my 06 Puma.
My starboard rod locker lights went out towards the end of last year. I messed with it a little, but could not figure out why.
Tonight, my neighbor and I started looking at it and determined that the mercury switch was bad. I had a replacement switch from BassCat, so we decided to install it.
We left the battery hooked up during the install so we would know if we hooked it up backwards or not. (low voltage, figued it wouldn't hurt anything to leave it hooked up) Well, something happened and ALL of my locker lights went out. I thought that they had just "timed out" and shut down, but I turned the master power on and off, closed and opened the compartments, and no lights.

I found a white wire with a red stripe that seems to be the main wire that connects all of the compartments, but didn't see any issues with it. (hard to trace)

    So....
Did I blow a fuse that I cannot find?
Did I burn out something in the control panel?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks,

My compartment lights have done the same thing on 06 Puma. I have also traced the issue back to the white wire with red stripe. What I have found is at times I have 12 volts and the lights work then all of a sudden the voltage drops to 5.5 volts? Not sure what is causing this or what I need to do to fix it?

Tracing the white wire with red stripe it seems to be drawing power from the Security/Pro Air panel. Thinking my panel may be bad? I posted last fall on the owners board with no response? Time to try again since were both have the same issue.

I found that 5.5V is about all that I could get when testing the voltage on mine too.
I installed Bluewater LED lights and could not get them to work. I called BC, and I'm positive they said that was normal, but the newer Puma's are 12V.

They said to post my question on this forum for an answer on how to get my Bluewater lights to work.

In order to get my Bluewater lights to work, I had to cut 3 of the incandescent light bulb off of the light string, then hook up the Bluewater LED. Sure enough, it worked and everything was great.

I checked my Security Pro/Air Panel and everything works except the security function. (No horn, but the light flashes above the security button.)

There are no fuses other than links inside to burn. Try disconnecting the power and reconnecting to reboot. We are not sure otherwise. But someone probably oes know.

Links inside the Security Panel to burn? I hope that is not the case

I tried disconnecting the Pro Air/Security System panel and re-connecting hoping it would re-set, but no luck.
I have removed it looking for any burnt wires, but see nothing wrong with it.

I was able to trace the white wire with the red stripe to the harness.

My next thought is to try and bypass the panel and put power to the white wire w/red to see if the lockers light up. If so, then I know it is the panel. However, everything seems to be working on the panel.
    Tested:
    Pump out - OK
    Pump in - OK
    Acc (livewell lights)- OK
Security - Light flashes as active, but no horn sound.

    Any other thougths from anyone?

Well, good news and bad news. After disconnecting the security panel,I bypassed it by running a jumper wire from the incoming positive to the white wire with red stripe. Sure enough, the rod locker lights came on.

The bad news is the issue apprears to be in my security panel.

If I just disconnect the rod locker wire from the security panel harness, and wire it directly to a positive wire, will my issue be solved. (without an alarm system of course) However, I would rather have everything working properly.

I just had the same issue, I had volts but no amps. Replaced the panel and everything works fine and I have volts and amps.

This is just a thought. Since you mentioned connecting the Bluewater lights and someone mentioned a voltage drop and another mentioned an amp drop. Here is a link: http://www.tpub.com/neets/book1/chapter3/1-26.htm that explains how resistance works when placed in a parallel circuit. The lights in themselves create a resistance or "load" on the system. Not saying that is what is wrong, but you might try disconnecting the bluewaters and see if all goes back to normal. If so, put the Bluewaters on a separate switch.
    Again, just a thought
