    Classic set-up?

I have an 04 Pantera Classic with a 200 EFI. Right now I am running a 24P Tempest. I'm only able to get 65 mph GPS out of it right now.

I'm looking for recomendations on the best set-up for my boat(prop, motor height, jack plate, etc)

    Thanks for any help

24 tempests can vary quite a bit in pitch and balance. Friend of mine has same setup and runs a 26 fury, runs low 70s. If you carry a lot of gear and 2 big guys regularly a 25 might be better.

    Is the 200 a 2.5L or 3.0L? If it's a 2.5L I would try a 24 Fury. If it's the 3.0L I would try at least a 25 or 26 Fury or a 26 Trophy.

You definitely need a bigger prop. I would try 24p-25p fury and 25p-26p tempest.

If you run a bigger wheel slowly raise the jack plate to get your rpms back. Keep an eye on water temp.

24 too small. Friends 200efi is a 2.5. It will turn 26 fury to 6k by himself, full fuel lots of gear (most in the back) 5,700 w/me full fuel & tackle 70gps.

26 fury is too much prop for the 2.5 block. It will suffer with hole shot. Your buddies 2.5 must be on steroids then.

That is a lot of slip. Motor must be pretty high to get that RPM and only 70mph.

Huh? 5,700 6.7% with 2 big guys, fuel, and lots of tackle. plate is about 1/8 to 1/4 above flush and has not adjusted but a couple times.
