It's going to be different for everyone, I got 12 on deep divers and 8 on smaller cranks.

I bought some Iguana copolymer at a sale in 13 (size of 6-8lb) I'm using for jerks, half oz lipless and shallow cranks. And 23 ( 14-15lb diameter) and its working well. I'm trying to get used to the stretch in it since I've used fluro mainly. Fishin hasn't been good enough to really evaluate it well but the small diamiter is allowing my baits to run very well

10 lb Silver Thread Excalibur on all my cranks, except for squarebills around shallow cover. I then use Trilene 12XT
Another exception would be when using spinning equipment, then I use 8 lb Excalibur.

For deep diving crankbaits I use 10 pound Izorline Platinum. For shallow crankbaits, which is fish in and around cover, I go with 12 pound Izorline Platinum. This is not only the most abrasion resistant, low stretch copolymer that I have ever used. It's also some of the least expensive int he 1/4 pound spools. Check it out on Tackle Warehouse.

I find that it's hard for me to fish a deep diving crankbait on mono line. I like using 10lb Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon because it helps me dig that crankbait into the rocks better. Now for squarebills I will use 14-17lb. test Trilene XL in the low-vis green color. This line helps me to keep my bait ridding just over the top of the grass line and not digging it into the grass to much.

I love yozuri hybrid in 10-12. Sinks slowly so you can use the same setup to throw Sammy's without hindering the action because if moved quickly, line won't sink. To me that's great bc my cranking rods are what I use for topwater baits like Sammy and poppers

It would depend on whether I was using a spinning rod and reel or a casting rod and reel. Spinning outfit I like 6-8 lb test and Casting I like 12-14 lb test for mono.
