01 225 Rude Ram started running wierd then would not restart,Please read!

Went out today & had to idle around in the 6 mph zone had to idle back to ramp around a mile at around 2000 rpm everything was runnunig great when the sound of the motor changed lifted then reved it up it just sounded louder that was before, real weird could not run it wide open so got to the ramp & shut it down & it would not restart, got home & pulled some plugs & they were black could have a foulded plug & it dropped a cylinder but I thought this motor would have ran hot enough to keep the plug brown hope I will put in some new plug & do a compression check monday,what should the psi be on this motor?

Fuel lift pump?

I'm going to check fuel & spark today Ill let you know what I find trying plug first,I will check to see if the pump comes on when key is put to the on position.

Rusty have you seen alot of proplems with this also read my new post,hope my dealer has a lift pump in stock!

That sounds exactly like what happened to mine. It was the fuel lift pump.

ordered lift pump today,fuel pressure was 25psi when key was turn on & then dropped to 5psi when pump stopped,pumped up bulb would not chgange result,does the computer cut spark till it sees enough fuel pressure or rpm?

Don't know about that. I could crank mine - it just wouldn't run for very long at all... I hope you get these issues resolved. I know its aggravating to be down for sure!!

I know, got a TX saturday hope to have it resolved by then I will post the results wed. when I get the lift pump installed.
