Thats pretty funny. I am sure you shut him up. I always get comments , Its looks fast just sitting on the trailer .. or what kind of race boat is that .. I think they are rare everywhere. Never saw one in person until I went to pick mine up.

With less than 40-50 boats made per year, they are very rare. . . and unique.

Hell, I live in the same state they are made and I don't see very many of them... . But that is what makes them great

First Post......Just bought a used Allison XB-21 which i am picking it up next Monday. I'm excited......I'm scared I paid to much.....I'm Nervous....I have only experience in Rangers and other speed challenged boats, so I'm both scared and excited to get in the cockpit.......I'm going to pack extra socks in case I run out of toilet paper.

Mad, you have just purchased an all purpose fighter jet as compared to the boats you've been used to. Congratulations!! You've joined a unique group of people. We're here to help!! We've all been where you are!

My advice would be to simply take it easy in learning to drive it. You will have to unlearn all the bad habits of driving dumbed down hulls in the past and learn what an efficient and a performance hull drives like. Don't expect to be driving 90 in two days. The 21 will perform well at all ends of the spectrum from hole shot to top and everywhere in between. Once you master the ride (balance) the boat will seem easy to drive, much easier than you ever thought.

Don't worry about the price, it will pay for itself through quality, enjoyment, the thrill of driving, and it will maintain its value years into the future. Around my house, I don't mention the price at all. . .

There are alot of Okies who drive Allisons. You can find them on http://forum.allisonowners.com/

    Again congrats!

Been there, done that!! Bought mine new not used (lucky it was a year old), didn't pay too much as Allison's go but yes more than a cookie cutter (will never regret it) with no experience driving an Allison whatsoever AND never saw or touched one til I drove into the marina that day after driving 865 miles and saw MINE for the first time!! Excited to get in the cockpit is an understatement. I don't know how many hours into practice driving til I finally relaxed my body, especially my butt and legs, that I was not fatigued after driving. It will be one of the most thrilling driving experience while frustrating at the same time (unless you are a natural). And you will be chomping at the bit to get back out and drive some more!!

Congrats dude...and welcome to the Elite!

Re: allys are rare around here (Props4u2)

I don't know who's it was actually. It was a MO boat....Bought the 2003 2+2 from Linda in TN. It looks great in the pics and they assured me it was in great shape. I know I will need some seat time. I am excited but still have sticker shock!! Thanks for helping feel my pain. If you know something about it...good or bad, I can take it. The boat looks great and they seem to be great folks to work with. I like them already and have not even met them yet.

    Steve.

Hear me well. I was warned that the first couple of times out it may be a little difficult to figure out once you get above a certain speed. You will wash the sides a little and doubt your purchase. At least I did until after the 10th hour of driving and slowly it started to feel smooth. For me the first time I put it up on pad was like those life changing moments that you will never forget. The feel, the sound the sudden burst of speed when it goes from 75 to 80 then to 85. I have only put 30 hours total now and I could tell you I would never own another brand of bass boat in my life..........

LInda's Lakeside Marine in TM??? My wife and I met them at the Rally this past June and LInda and her husband Larry are wonderful people. You will love them! And make sure Larry is available to take you out on the lake to give you some driving lessons. That's the best advice I could give you.

Re: allys are rare around here (AllyFishing)

Allisons are pretty rare here in Missouri as well. I've seen one and that was on the water at lake of the ozarks. I didn't want to get something totally sight unseen so I called down to the plant to schedule a time when I can come down and see what these allisons are all about.

This thursday will be that day! I've mostly talked to Todd down there but he said they'd pick me up at the airport and take me back since it's just going to be a day trip. I'm really excited to see in person what's I've only read about and seen in pictures up to now.

I hope you get to talk with Darris. You will be impressed at the history, the design philosophy and the build quality.

Unimog, I grew up fishing LOZ and know how rough it can get. Additionally, Ive owned the biggest model of the "other brand" I think youre interested in (not including their brand new release). But anyway, the 2 seat BasSport Pro will get up and leave all other brands Ive ever owned (including a Champion 210 Elite) when the water gets rough.

Mad, so it was you who bought the 03 red ally xb21 2+2 boat from Linda's Lakeside Marine. I was interested in that boat too but a bit too late. So congrats to you.

My wife was left with no choice but to purchase the 2010 XB21 2+2 w/250 Pro XS for my birthday. (She's not good with surprises) I will pick it up this weekend. It will be a long drive from Minnesota.

Don't feel bad. A lot of boats are slow.

Congrates blaster, you will love it. Once you get her figured out you will understand why Allison owners love their boats so much.

Re: allys are rare around here (The Whip)

We live in Minnesota, absolutely no Allison dealers here or within the surrounding states. I have never seen or touch an Allison boat, just watched videos and drooled about them in the past years. I fish local tournaments out of my 2008 deep-v, aluminum boat and boy, I was always the slowest boat. I've lost many fishing spots and can't get to shallow areas. For a long time my wife and I debated traditional bass boat -vs- multi-species boat, speed -vs- room....etc. Finally, we sold the aluminum boat and ended our disagreements with the Allison XB21 2+2.
