    1978 17' Allison restoration project

I posted on "boats restoration", but I'll post it here also. I was GIVEN a 1978 17'XST Allison Craft. So you can imagine what kind if shape it is in. The floors are horrible and I am sure the stringers are shot too. I am going to pull the cap off and bring it to a friend of mine that owns a fiberglass repair shop to fix it. He said if I take the cap off it would greatly reduce my cost. The guy that gave it too me said the transem was ok but since I am taking the cap off I am just going to go ahead and put me a new transem too so I won't have to worry about it. My question is does anyone have any suggestions in taking the cap off of an old tri hull? Also once I finish what size motor do yall recommend?

    Welcome to the board Camile.
I would suggest posting this on http://www.Allisonowners.com or calling the Allison factory @ 65-983-5920. Good luck with your project.
