Has anyone stayed there on vacation??? I am thinking about going there. Any advice would be great .

I have, if you like a semi private beaches this is the place to go. Its about 15 miles to the Beach strip and stores and shops of Gulf Shores. I prefer a house vs. a room, this is where we stayed last time. Gulf Breeze is the name of the house. You are on the beach! Quiet area.

I have been going to my Family's beach house on Ft. Morgan Rd. since the early 80's. It is near the Plantation Resort @ a half mile west in the SurfSide Shores Community on the Gulf side of the road. It is not gated and the yearly residents are very friendly. It is the most beautiful and secluded beach I have ever seen and I have been all over the East Coast from Jersey to the tip of Florida. You can't stay at the fort, but there are is many choices in weekly and monthly rental property. Check with Jenny Grace Reality and she will set you up with a great house. You will be @ 11 miles from the GS crowds, but that is the reason you go way down Ft. Morgan Rd. I will be there this Thurs - Sun. IM if you want to know anything specific. This place is unique in that you can take you dog, build a fire, fish, party or lay out nude. Not many places that you can do that anymore and you can't do that in the GS condo areas and Orange beach. It is called the Redneck Riviera for a reason.
