    trim bounces

I just replaced my trim motor on my 96 200 johnson venom. I raised the engine and filled the trim fluid. Now when I let it down it bounces alot. Seems like it is full of air. I have tried opening the release valve and running it for 30 sec up 30 secs down several times. Doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions

Does it do it under a load in the trim range? If not, don't be to bothered with it. Bleed the system by running the engine up and down at least 5 times, remove the fill cap and let the air out. Repeat at least 5 times. If it still does it only in the tilt mode, it's ok, but not in the trim mode. Grease the tilt tube fittings and check the tilt tube nuts to make sure they are not to tight. You may also cycle the manual release screw. Run the engine up, loosen the screw, let the engine down. Repeat at least 5 times.

The tilt is the big ram right? It only does it about halfway down. Once it hits the trim rams its good and smooth. Its just really aggravating.
