A lot of you remember the bad storms that went through ALA, TN, and GA about 3 weeks ago. Our pontoon boat was moored in a covered slip at a local marina that sustained extremely heavy damage. Yesterday, they called and their exact words were .... "HEY, We found your boat!"![]()
It looks dirty, and it was. Remember ... this tub stays in the water except for a spring cleaning every year. But the amount of goop that was deposited on it was appalling.
The tornado picked it up, removed it from under the slip it was in, and placed it on top of another bank of slips that ultimately collapsed onto it. When they got it "dug out", it had landed on a huge piece of foam from another dock section. It's still sitting on the block of foam. The insurance adjuster says they will "take a look at it" in the next few days. Honestly ... I almost hope they total it out and just pay us for it ....![]()
Minor damage to the front of one of the pontoons ... it just rolled the end and the tie eye over almost 90 degrees:
It removed one of the seats (almost) and left it sitting in the boat
Like I said ... It landed on a huge piece of foamThe foam block runs all the way to the front of the boat, and out the port side. The boat is sitting about 24" higher on one side than the other.
