    Bluewater Led Color

So it's that time of year where we start night fishing for some trout. I want to put some Bluewater LEDs for deck lighting. What color do y'all think would go well with me boat. I have a H20B. it has Xpress' Exterme liner which is white with black specks. No carpet in the boat and the exterior paint is black. I was thinking if going with red or blue...are there any drawbacks/advantages to either?

Yes,the red will affect your vision the least.

That's what I had read and was going to go with the red since I have no colors of the boat to match.

I have the silver with black spray liner in my H18 with red deck lights. I would recommend red, but I also haven't used any other color. The light doesn't give me a headache and didn't seem to attract any swarming bugs, I had some crawling on the deck near the lights, but they weren't swarming in the air near me. I used mine several times last year, and I can say that I will have it on every other boat I own from now on. I would add some white led to the inside of the boat on a separate switch for getting ready or packing up at night, the red isn't quite bright enough for that imo.

I was going to put some white LEDs on the center console and I installed a 3 switch bank so I already have that part covered

The white is nice in some of the compartments,or under the console so it lites up the floor really well. Most of my compartments i will use while fishing has red leds so it doesn't kill your night vision when you look in them like white will.

Willy, can you post or pm me some pics of your led set up. I have my plan on how I want to run the wires since I have no carpet but I'm sure there are some tips out there that may make it better

A little tip,you can pull all the carpet out of mine, and you won't see any wires. Here's a couple of tips.If you notice the lites are the underside of the rails so they don't directly shine in your eyes, but lite the deck up nicely. For wire, speaker wire works really nicely for this job.For the front deck lites,go thru the gap of where the bow meets the side rails. For the rear deck, come thru where the transom meets the sides.(there is a gap in front and rear)For a lite at the center, drill a small hole in the underside of the rail at the front edge of where you want to mount the lite.Run speaker wire into the hole, and angle it towards the back so it comes out there, and you can hook it to the rear lite wiring. Also if you have some electric fence wire, cut a section long enough to go thru the rail, and tape the speaker wire to the end of that and pull the speaker wire with the elect.fence wire. The fence wire is stiff, and won't wad up like the speaker wire will when pushing it thru the rail.

that's exactly how I was going to do the wiring. just wanted to see my options. I only have the front and read deck package so 4 LEDs but also bought some white 6" led lights that will go on my center console. I hope the 2 per deck are bright enough to look good. thy should come in tomorrow.

Here's a few pics that may help.

I also used the red in my front compartments, and stuck them under the deck so they don't ever shine in your eyes. They just lite the compartments.

I also used those small white livewell lites under my seat,in the rod box,and under the console indirectly like the others.

I got a kit from bass pro when they were on sale, but they only had blue deck lights. I need to get some more and finish my decks out.
