After seeing a couple threads started about first fish, or family getting nvolved with fishing I wanted to share what I was able to catch a few years back.
My dad is a hardcore fisherman, and in time made me into one as well. So when my son was 2 (3 years ago) we took him to a pond to try to catch a fish and start the love at a young age.
I have documented the first catch below;
This is the pond and them casting and me setting up where to photograph from
This is grand-dad showing how to hold the rod better as the fish actually hits (see splash)
This is them swinging it in after letting it make a little run and him enjoy a fight.
This is him holding it (remember he was 2, I was proud!
Finally the splash as its thrown back.
All in all this may be my dads favorite pics from his entire life. A grad-dad and grand-son sharing something like this is special. He actually has these on his phone and shows them still.
Take your son and daughter fishing and build memories, respect for teh outdoors and love of the pursuit!
