    Fuel gauge question

I have been broke lately so I have been keeping gas low on my boat and pumping only 20-25 dollars max on my boat but barely see my gas gauge move up, Is there a good after market gas gauge that reads the fuel level accurately?

I assume the gauge is reading? Most of the inaccuracies have to do with the shape of the tank. You can replace the sender, but the chances of you getting an accurate reading are slim to none with the shape of the tank. The tanks are "L" shaped and fit under/behind the seats. The tank is somewhat shaped just like a bench seat, so the bottom 4-6 inches of the tank may be 24-30 wide where the top 12-18" of the tank may only be 6-8" wide. This means that 1/2-3/4 of your fuel is stored in the bottom 4-6 inches of the tank. The sending units read on an equal scale and the shape of the tank will not allow them to read an accurate reading. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if I can help in any way.
