A lil rough water fishing/riding vid.

    Hey all,

Went fishing the other day in one of our rare SoCal storms, and my buddy got some fishing/running footage on his gopro. Just threw it together, it's my first vid so please excuse the poor editing/sound quality. Didn't put music in, cause I like to hear that black beast on the back We got kicked off the lake due to the weather, but we put about 20 in the boat before it was time to go. No size, but fun. I take so much from the forum, so i just wanted to give a lil entertainment back... Enjoy!

    Matt

P.S. I'm not trying to start a boat pi**ing match, in no way im trying to say any boat is better than another. Cheers

Cool footage from that camera, I want one of those go pro cams.

Who closes the lake? I have never heard of that happening.

How do they close the lake? I've never heard of that. Maybe close a launch, but how do they notify the boaters on the water?

The lake staff closes the lake down. In one of the clips you can see a pontoon out in front of us. They just ride around telling people to scram. Only in Cali lol

Neat footage, and big swimbaits. I just don't have the confidence to throw something like that. I thought that one guy had a little fish on, until he clipped the hook on his rod's hookholder.

I can't believe they shut the lake down...from your footage it looked like a typical day at Santee-Cooper.

Diamond Valley Lake and most of of the lakes in SoCalif are tiny compared to the rest of the country. Here is a sattelite view

Awesome video! Weather looks like a nice normal day in Oklahoma though.

    Re: (blackgts2002)

I agree deff not the worst I have been in, or seen haha. Are "lakes" are ponds compared to your waters! We wanted to stay, and felt the conditions didn't warrant a closure... But that's what happens when the lake staff wants to leave early on a cold rainy sat. I think maybe 7 boats showed up to fish... I have some swimbait footage I may upload later, but it's not the best footage. You just have to commit to the bait, to get the confidence.

We've got a lake in Kansas that shuts down when the wind goes beyond a certain point. The lake patrol gives a pager for every boat and they page whenever wild weather is coming in. That lake has one gated entry and one boat dock - actually about 5 stalls.

Good thing they don't close Lake of the Ozarks when it looks like that.

Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

My mother lives in Hemet and I have fished Diamond Valley Lake a couple of times from a rental boat. My step dad was one of the first boat inspectors when they opened it up. With all the rules and regs on that lake it sure made me appreciate what I have in my own back yard.
