Can the battery be the cause ? Ficht ?

After putting the engine on the dyno for hours they still can't find the reason why the 200 Ficht is sputtering. They said that since my cranking battery is only 775 cranking amps that might be the cause. Can this be true? On battereise they say cranking amps and cold cranking amps what do I need to have for the fichts?

    Thanks

    Crankin,
I hate to here that your having problems with your Ficht. If you need parts, I have a 2000, 200hp that I'm about to start parting out. I lost the #5 cylinder. I'll be repowering my Triton with a new engine. I'm through with this FICHT.

I bought a 1190 ca and 1000cca battery . The guys on here do like to see a 1000 ca battery. You don't have wing nuts on it do ya. They cause more trouble on the Ficht/DI motors than they are worth.

Battery would only affect starting of your motor and will only affect running if it has loose connections

wing nuts can work loose no matter how tight you try to get them and when they do an interuption of juice can mees and will with any computer look at your home when it has power surges and loss of power. same difference. Get lock nuts and put them on they will not interfere with the flow of juice but will keep everything nice and tight. I use them on all my batteries and I only have an old 200 venom/GT

I bought a new battery and replaced the wing nuts with Lock nuts. This did seem to make the issue lees frequent but it is still there. I ran a good 10 miles to start the day and it ran great. When I started to near my spot I felt one sputter as I idled down. Then I would move from spot to spot and thats when it started to happen again.

Here is my real issue. I have been told that the best Tech for Rudes in our area (Chicago ) is Steve at Basas Marine. He has really tried hard to fix the issue but he can't get the problem to arise on the dyno. What should I do? Also, Will it cost me a arm and a leg to just find out what the problem is with all that Dyno time.

    (1) Add a 10G ground wire from the battery cable on the engine to the emm ground location. (Helps some issues but maybe not yours)

Better yet, the ground cable from the EMM is long enough to be re-routed to the battery cable ground stud on the starter for best results.
