    I thought this issue had been settled some time ago. All I use is the factory bracket.

    Post a similar worded post, and in 2mins. the repost police will post 6 link's to the origional post that you are looking for! This is by far the easiest way to find an old post.

    Found it , just trying to convince myself to use the motor bracket rather than a transom saver. For thirty five years used a conventional saver, this bracket thing is kinda scary. It's a 225 Johnson. But seems a lot of people use the bracket. Probably gonna give it a shot.
