BlueBack Herring are spaning on Smith Lake Al

Guys,

If there is any doubt about blueback herring in Smith Lake, there spawning right now . We saw them in 5 inches of water in most broken up rock/ and rock pockets. Water Temps are 66. The spawn isnt even on totally yet but the blubacks are going. They were seen near castle, and also on the other side of lake Yellow creek today spwaning....How long till the spots realize they can eat them? There all about the length of your hand....

I would think it would be soon That will be good times for sure on that lake

The spots eat them year round.

These have been introduced illegally, and no one knows when but they just showed up in a few places this year and some last year...Exciting times. Maybe we can get like Lanier in the years to come
