Dont know If its true or not but a co-worker said today that his family was hit by the deadly tornados that swept through KY last week. their whole home destroyed, they went to have their cable tv shut off and was charged $75 because they LOST their cable box.
I would think insurance would cover it but I'm not surprised the cable company would want reimbursement myself.
If that's true. I want the name of the company.
Had a similar situation up here. A guy renting an apartment passes away and his son went o clean things up and was charged another months rent because he never gave notice of leaving.I don't know what the outcome was?
Sucks for sure, but the contract they agree on says that they are liable for the box no matter the terms or conditions. Thats just one of those things where insurance covers the loss.

Please keep in mind that most all fast food locations are franchises. The Hardees here in our area donated to our kids tournaments for years until it was bought out by another franchisee...

That is no different than any item that is leased or rented monthly like a home propane tank or even a leased vehicle the insurance will cover it. I don't know what company it is but our local Cable company is collecting donations for the tornado victims from their employees. I am taking in baby care items and pet food.

Unless the son's name was on the lease he's not responsible for his father's debts. I hope he told the apartment complex to go pound sand!

My Mom passed away and I had her cell phone on my plan. I called to have her phone service discontinued and they charged me the early termination fee. It was $200 or finish out the contract at $70 a month. I even spoke to a supervisor and they didn't care. The company was Nextel, I am now with Verizon. They probobly have the same practices but I felt better after switching.

A friend of mine's daughter got killed in a car accident and AT$T wouldn't let here cancel her phone either without a cancellation fee. These companies are so sad.

Cable co. said no one would be charged.
