For me it would be a no brainer...Humminbird SI. I can't think of any time I would have used a power pole in the past decade or so. Except for maybe docking the boat.

Get the HBsi, gotta know where they are before you can attempt to anchor the boat and catch em.

Steve nether is going to help you catch fish, you will never use a power pole cause you can't sit in a spot long enough anyway. And a SI doesnt work very well with the trolling motor on high so save yourself the money and buy more red rattle traps

If you fish shallow, get the power pole. They are so useful. I used to think the same about them but you can use them in so many ways.

    Power pole.
I hardly even use my depth finder usually just for temp. I guess it all depends on your region and the style of fishing you like.

Re: what would you do (ecobass)

I would go with the bird. I use mine most for navigation. Never know where a rock is and it's helped me crawl home in the fog and dark on several occasions. For that alone, my money in my bird has been well worth ot. I can always drop an anchor, but navigating in the fog can be brutal. Learned on a buddies boat last fall duck hunting. Hour and a half for what should have been 5 minutes....
