I think it's total BS. By law, this guy committed a crime, and should be penalized. There is a point when religion should have it's boundaries. IDGARA about the islamic faith, any faith that supports violence needs to be banished IMHO.

I don't really think we should go there. Catholicism doesn't have a very good track record for tolerance and persecution.

Judges are to uphold the laws of the U.S. Constitution and those laws of the state inwhich they serve; wasn't aware religious laws of foreign countries were amongst these.

Look at the bright side folks, If this gets upheld (wich wouldn't suprise me) as the article says "This would permit violence against people exercising free speech" don't you think we could find a few people to visit those westboro baptist people to test the new law just remember though since the first ammendmant will be dead that will move the second up to first. So carry a big gun and when some crazy thinks your insulting he or she and comes after you..... Well there should be one less to testify

Of course you left out the fact that he stopped practicing Catholicism as a youth, and that he disliked all organized religion. Nevermind the fact that Catholics were killed in concentration camps along with anyone else who crossed him. There is a ton of reading out there on the subject of his religous beliefs. To say that WWII was started in the name of Catholicism is very off base.

Let's hope this ruling is overturned. Pretty scary if someone can attack you and if their "reason" for attacking you is valid in the eyes of the court, that they can walk free.
