Need BRP and Evinrude Contact info

    Any help appreciated.

I am lookng for mail address and/or email address for the highest ranking officer at Evinrude and the Board of Directors at BRP.

My 150 E-TEC just blew it's second power head and I want to give them the chance to hear from a very dissatisfied customer.

Yes I have expressed my opinion of the situation to the Hot line already.

    I have an E-TEC 150 Model number E150DPXSU serial G05147527C. Purchased on 3/17/06

First power head got 19 hours on it and number 4 cylinder cooked.
Second power head got 8 hours on it and fuel injctor #1 went out and EMM had to be sent back to factory for reporgramming
Second power head got 15 hours on it when the number 4 cylinder cooked. Yes just like the first failure.

Total of 34 hours on the lower unit at this point.

It's in the shop now. I never got an answer for why the first power head failed. Neither did the dealer.

    Pioneer 197,

I really feel bad for you with the powerhead failures. Since that is not a common thing on the 150's, and both times your motor lost #4 piston, there may be a different problem causing these occurances.

Did your dealer's technician run the motor with a clear fuel line and a vacuum gauge to test the integrity of the boat's fuel system? I so, what size bubbles were visible and what was the vacuum readings at idle, cruise, and WOT?

A call to customer service should be done right away for the record. Save the other calls and letters to higher ups until the root cause is found. You would feel rather sheepish if the problem was in the boat and not the motor. That has happened more often than you think. Some of the most outspoken and loud-mouthed complainers and bashers are now strangely silent as their problems were not caused by the motor(s).

    Seahorse

Thanks for your concern. I am not bashing but I am very, very upset. I am scared to get out of sight of the boat landing, much less take it out the inlet this fall. Not sure I will ever trust it.

The second failure happend just like the first one. I recognized the clicking noise as soon as I heard the motor pitch change. Headed straight back to the landing and almost made it back before it locked up. No alrams on the gauges, no buzzers and the dealer confirms no codes on the EMM.

I don't have any idea what is causing the problem, and the folks at the hotline don't seem to know either, Or are not willing to share the information with me. It could be anything. I talked to the hotline folks both yesteday and today at lenght as did the dealer.

Neither the Hotline nor dealer mentioned checking the fuel system to me. Any other ideas appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I am using the carbon guard product as specified on the bottle directions.
I did add 1 oz of Carbon Guard and 8 gallons of gas from a Shell oil station just before going out on Tuesday.
I added 3 oz of Carbon Guard and 24 gallons of gas from a Chevon station the day before the first failure.
I am using regular unleaded gas.

I did call the boat manufacturer rep today and ask them to check with other dealers that sold the same hull with the 150 E-TEC to see what props they were using and if anyone had problems with the motor. They will call back in a few days.

I have confirmed that GA does not have lemon law for boats or motors - only cars.

I am not happy with what the hotline's proposes as a solution. Listed below.

Yet another power head that has been run on a dynamometer to check it out.
    programmed to run on XD50/30.
purge the oil system of the current XD100
    6 gallons of XD50
Start the 7 year waranty over.
Try another prop to get the RPM up.
