    Dothan/Enterprise Alabama

Going to be in the Dothan/Enterprise area for about six weeks starting on Jan. 11th and was wanting to find some places within an hour or so of Dothan/Enterprise that would be great to fish. I won't have a boat, but may at some point bring mine down for a weekend. Any suggestions on where a good place would be to catch some nice Largemouth around there? Posted this in the AL forum as well, thought it might get a little more traffic here. Thanks!

If you're staying around the circle in Dothan. You can be at Talquin in about an hour and a half. Seminoles not that far either. I've only fished Talquin a handful of times, but if I head that way when you're down you're more than welcome to hop in the boat with me.

I appreciate the offer... Had thought about Seminole as well. Just want to get a chance at one of those storied AL Largies!

I guess if we're talking Talquin, we'd be talking Florida Largies

You will be in between Walter F. George (Eufaula) and Seminole. Take your pick; both big bass fisheries. Just follow channel markers and watch the wind; both can kick up nasty rollers esp. if wind out of the south. Believe it or not you'll be there for the beginning of prespawn (esp. Seminole) so enjoy!!!

Will actually be staying in Enterprise, but will probably try and hit all three lakes. Talquin, Seminole and Eufaula. Pretty pumped about being in the area for 6 weeks and will have two 3 day weekends and have every weekend off while I'm there. I hope to fish every one of them!

the south side of Eufaula at that.

Seminole in late February is hard to beat.

Well, made it down. Have fished Lake Thollocko(sp?) abot three times from the bank. Caught a few small fish and a few decent ones. Seems like a good looking lake. They want to much per day to rent a boat. $60 for 8 hours.

Not much, but I think I'm finally getting on the boat this Sunday!

Yeap, hoping to make that trip annually if possible. Great lake!
