This was posted on a friend of mine's facebook page. His young son, 4 years old, being walked from last year's Memorial Day parade by his Great-Grandfather and namesake, Ben MacMaster. The Sr. Ben is a D-Day and Battle of the Bulge veteran, awarded with 3 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze Star's. A TRUE hero! Its a shame more kids are not raised to idolize men like this instead of some professional athlete or pop singer.
If you are ashamed to stand by your colors, you had better seek another flag.
On the day I die I know where I'm gonna go, me and Jesus got that part worked out. I'll wait at the gate till his face I see, and stand in a long line of sinners like me.

Mr. MacMaster will be 93 years old this year, and is no longer able to walk the parade. He is too proud to ride the school buses, so he will watch the parade from the sidewalk. Last year just about every vet in the parade walked over to him on the "sidelines" and shook his hand. It is without a doubt a time when you'll want to be wearing sun glasses to hide the tears.
