Not familiar with anything ramp wise past the 2 below.
Lower/Mid - Beeswax is the best ramp (Bassmaster Classic Ramp)
Paradise Point is ok
not much up river, I know of one ( Talledega Creek ) but you take a chance of things missing off your vehicle or your whole vehicle missing when you get back.![]()

Going to try the mid section, never been there.
Deffinately Beeswax. It's a good ramp and got some GOOD Fishing with in a couple miles either way. Let me know and might could meet you there and show you around some. I'll ask my buddy about Hotels.
Thanks, will be down there the night of march 2, will spend a couple of days then up to guntersville for a couple, been there fish a bass invitational with Larry Nixon and rowlen Martin about six years ago
I hear they use a rig down there...
As others have said, Beeswax is your best bet. I have stayed at a motel at exit 212, on I-65, one of the Clanton exits. It's the Guest House. Nice place, and they have some boat parking with outside electrical hookups. I'd say the motel is about 12-15 miles south of Beeswax ramp.

Of course I talk to myself...sometimes I need expert advice.
For sure Beeswax Creek launch. Look for hotels in either Alabaster or Childersburg. I would recommend that you consider staying in Childersburg and then fish Lay one day Logan Martin the next. Both are about the same drive time. I live 2 miles from Beeswax. Let me know if you have any questions.
Also look at the Hampton Inn in Calera.
Why pass Guntersville going to Lay?????![]()
If you hear dueling Banjo's........RUN....![]()

A freind went to G-ville today and had best 5 of 32+
I would launch at Beeswax or Paradise Point. There are a few ramps around Shelby like Bozo's marina but they can be hard to find. Look for a hotel in Columbiana, AL(10 min). That would be your closest option. After that, Calera or Alabaster (20-30 min.). Remember that there isn't much on the east side of Lay lake. I was just up there after Christmas. The lake was a couple feet low but the jig bite was definitely on.
Thanks everyone, I will keep you all informed and maybe see you all down there. The Bullit probably will not be done so i will be in the orange gambler
