    Raise it or leave it?

1996 202 with a 2005 Yamaha 200HP 3.3L HPDI. 8" rapid jack, set at 3" below the pad, 25 pitch tempest plus. Max Rpm's about 5500-5600. Water pressure is around 18-20 psi. Top speed right now is 72 mph gps with me, a full tank of gas and all equipment. It comes out of the hole right now and has great lift. The "only" thing I'm not seeing at full trim is a roostertail, at all. I understand it's supposed to be at or just below the cowling. Steering isn't pulling to right very much if any. I'm currently set a 3" below the pad. Would you keep raising it up or leave it where it's at?

" 8" rapid jack" easy enough to adjust. Go ahead and try it. Darn good #s as it is.

"The rooster tail should be no higher than the cowling", true, but I have never read where there is a point where it should be no lower. The lower it is, the less power you are wasting.

Sounds like you are getting good numbers. Personally, I'd leave it alone.

Well that's good to hear because I don't have a roostertail at all. Maybe I should just call it good.

Mark it where it's at and inch it up. Keep an eye on your numbers, water pressure and rpms. You can always go back to the spot you marked. Not sure what minimum recommended water pressure is for Yammie but on a black motor I think it's 15 WOT. You might look over on the Yamaha board and determine what your max rpm should be. I think you may have a few more there. Your report is impressive as is.

Those numbers are real good for a 200. How does it run with a passenger?

I've only ran it by myself loaded down. It's got a great hole shot. I'm guessing I'll lose 2-3 mph.
