RPM on 60 degree Johnson 150

Cant get but 4800 to 5000 rpm on motor. Compression checked good. Maybe prop problems?? My Prop is a Power Tech 24. It used to get about 5200 to 5400 but not any more. It is on a BassCat Sabre 1991 motor is also a 91 model.

Check your high speed jets to make sure they aren't backed off, you need to remove the carb drain plugs to access them. One or more may not be fully seated. Check the timing roller sticky at the top of the forum too.

Ok I think I found my problem my butterflies were not at 90 degrees when hot foot was depressed. They were only about 80 degrees so I adjusted the throttle stop on hot foot. Now they are about 90 degrees straight and not over. The jets and roller were good.
