    drop shot rod

    I am in the market for a couple drop shot rods. Wanting to see what is avail near the $100 range and what you suggest. Here is what I have looked at and my thoughts;

    Needs- 6lb and up, 1/8 oz and up, 7' and soft tip but not sloppy.

    -W&M Skeet drop sho- 7'2"M/ML?- WOW the tip is soft!! too soft?
    -Quantum KVD sig- 7'm- Seems a little too stiff maybe? I use the 6'6" for shaky heads and love them.
    -Veritas- 7'M, seems stiff too and is only rated for 1/4 oz and larger.
    -Vendetta- 7M- Same, seems a little stiff, but closer....
    -BPS Carbon- 6' 9"ML- Seems closest yet w/ feel, but I'd rather have 7'+ really.

    What do you have that you LOVE, I have 2 I use now but I feel like they are not sensitive enough...

    Re: drop shot rod (GregInAtl)

    I have an old style shimano clarus spinning for dropshotting. Idk if they make it in the new style but if so it has to be better and I love this one. Its 6'8" Medium, extra fast tip.

    Just checked they make it in a new one. Its actually their dropshot rod. Here's the link:

    I have a custom made one from Richard Stone. I bought it years ago on here and love it for drop shotting. You also might want to check out a Powell 702 spinning rod. That will be my next drop shot rod.

    I can't answer that very good as Both of my Shakey/Drop shot rods are both over $100........one is a Custom on an SCIII blank 6'9" ML x-fast as the other is actually an Avid 6'8" Med x-fast
