    Walmart batteries?

Going to buy new TM batteries @ walmart and was wondering is there a way to tell which ones are newest as far as mfg date? I know they have a month/year sticker on em but is that not just put on by the service people at walmart?

Stickers are stickers. Take a volt meter with you and hope for the best.

    Good luck!

That is put on by the battery manufacturer at the time of manufacturing.

if they read less than 12.4 volts while sitting on the shelf- DONT buy it,,,it has already started into discharge and will never give you the service it should....that being said, just look for the one with the newest date and you should be ok,,,,unless its covered with dust

I had to replace one last week. The sticker date said 8/06. Got my money's worth.

I've typically gotten 3-4 years out any marine battery I've gotten at Wal-mart. Not a bad deal at all.

I was looking at Walmart Maxx batteries yesterday, 1-25-12. They had 2/12 stickers on them.

May have been made the 2nd week of 2012? I had them show me the voltage and CCA on their handheld device; the CCA were actually higher than stated on the battery.
