    Buying from Ebay????

    Folks,

Looking for a Quantum Smoke PT and a couple of "Ebay stores" have them for up to 50 dollars less than any other place.....any of you had good or bad experiences using them?

Looking at "Bailey's Outdoor Store", "united Outdoors", " 701nodaksports"

    Thanks, BAM

I would look at amazon. I know they have them for around 150 with free shipping depending on what ratio you need.

If they have a good Rating I wouldn't have a problem. Just be sure and pay thru paypal.

I would check with waketowake33 from the tackle trap. He had some on here last week pretty cheap in the reel for sale section. He sold them but might be able to help you and he is a board sponsor.

I have bought several things from United Outdoors and they have great prices and all items have been new in the packaging. Haven't ordered from the other 2. Saved almost 90$ on a NIB Revo Toro a couple months back. Also ordered a fishfinder from them last year cheaper than any other place I could find.

+1 All communication should be through ebay and payment thru paypal. If you ever need to file a grievence or complaint it's much easier to get it settled. I buy lots of reels and baits with individual sellers and I haven't had a problem yet......knock on wood

Just like it's been said, look at the sellers " Rating " and make sure to look at the " shipping cost " too, have seen some expensive shipping costs.

I'm not saying the vendors you mentioned are. But I have seen a huge jump in the number of sellers from China. Since most of the reels are made in china now under contract to various companies, it stands to reason that some of the locals over there may be able to get their hands on a batch of reels and offer them at lowball prices. I always look to see where the seller is shipping from.

Other than that, I have had great success buying on Ebay, especially when manufacturers change reel models and the old models can wind up on Ebay at bargain prices.

Like others have said, look at their rating and shipping costs. After that, I look for items shipping from the US only. I did buy something coming out of Canada once, but took like two weeks to get here.

    Re: Buying from Ebay???? (cobrien19)

It is actually a little safer to buy stuff from an Ebay Store. A little harder to set up an Ebay store than just a regular sellers account. Now that does not mean there can't be an Ebay store scammer but I do think it is less likely since they would have to have more effort and accountability to have a "Store".

I have bought several items from Bailey's and United outdoors and they both have been great sellers. I would buy from them anytime.
